Legalize financial renumeration as an option for those willing to give up an organ.

Created by B.F. on January 19, 2013

If there is one thing we as humans can lay claim to, it is our own bodies. Land ownership ultimately belongs to none of us, but our body is the one thing we intrinsically can call our own without philosophical argument. I submit it is unconstitutional and immoral to prohibit the sale of the organs that constitute those bodies which we each own beyond argument. In this time of economic hardship, the sale of our individual organs could change the lives of the donors as significantly as the recipients. Those who would already donate their organs altruistically would continue to do so, and by allowing the sale of organs to those who can afford to pay, it would reduce the number of people on waiting lists and allow greater chance for those who can't afford to pay to receive one as well.
