Gay marriage to be allowed and recognized nationally in order for partners to receive all government and state benefits that are upheld in heterosexual couples. This is because it is currently not recognized like heterosexual marriages are. Gay marriage is frowned upon in the community because people think of it as taboo and unnatural. To be honest, it's all about opinion and that's what should really count so everybody practice what you preach!
