Considering these facts:
-The legalization of gay marriage would in no way have a negative effect on the lives of non-gay citizens
-There is no logical reason to ban gay marriage, with the primary argument against doing so being various quotes from the Bible, which are obviously invalid due to the separation of church and state
-Gay couples have repeatedly been proven to provide equally excellent care and upbringing as their straight counterparts
-There is significant correlation between the legalization of gay marriage and low divorce rates (Massachusetts, first state to legalize gay marriage, has the lowest divorce rate in the country)
We see that failing to take action restricts gay people's rights to being treated with equal respect, which is unacceptable in America. Thank you.
