The notion that Civil Unions are the same as Marriage are obserd. The State not the church issues an marriage license. The same rights are not afforded to Civil Unions as they are Marriages. The use of Religon as a basis for denying this basic human right. Seems that it validates second class status for the LGBT community. Which is a violation of our civil rights. Also a violation between the seperation of church and state. In this country we all deserve the same rights given to us by the Constitution. I purpose Marriage Equality be a Federal Law not a states rights issue.
