Mr. President, I believe you should get all of the States in America to Legalize Gay/Lesbian Marriage. Why shouldn't homosexuals be viewed as equals to heterosexuals? We had almost the same argument when it was blacks wanting to be legally equal to whites (we should all be equal in the first place), who denied them that because they were different. This is same with the same-sex community today. Homosexuals just want to be equal but the government and a disappointing percentage of the country thinks it would throw off the "delicate" balance of the U.S. gov. In the 50's, interracial marriage was illegal. But now, modern society understands this to be an unjust law that denied equal rights to couples who love each other. Equality is for everyone, no matter who you love.
