Industrial hemp used to be grown by American farmers until the 1930's. Today the world-leading producer of hemp is China, with smaller production in Europe, Chile and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. Over 30 countries produce industrial hemp, including Australia, Austria, Canada, Great Britain, France, Russia and Spain.
Industrial hemp has over 1000 uses - including fuel, bio-plastics, clothing, rope, ink. Farmers in North Dakota watch as their Canadian counter-parts grow and sell industrial hemp to Detroit to be used as sound deadening material in car doors.
There is no reason to not undo this law from over 70 years ago. The time is now.
