During WWII when access to industrial hemp was denied by our enemies, the US prioritized the production of industrial hemp within its borders as a national security issue. Industrial hemp is used in a myriad of products from rope, clothing, bags, to fiberous re-inforcement. With the reduction of tobacco useage, tobacco growers, generations of hard working, self reliant Americans are forced to go on welfare since few industrial/hi-tech jobs are available in remote rural communities. An entire industry could emerge from research, growth, sales, to end products if the federal government would promote, regulate, tax industrial hemp production. Small business growth, broader tax base, unemployment decreased, self reliance and pride increased. A win-win for farmers, taxpayers, and America.
