Legalize a hemp industry (hemp is not marijuana) in America to create hemp plastic for cars and other products .

Created by R.P. on November 18, 2012

A hemp industry in America would create many new jobs including jobs for farmers, trucking, manufacturing, and more. Hemp is not marijuana, but has been grown and used in America in the past for rope, clothing, paper, plasitcs, and clothing. In 1941, Henry Ford created a hemp car made of hemp plastic and it ran on hemp oil. Hemp growth was made illegal in America due to politcal and elitist reasons.

Today, a Canadian company named Motive Industries has created a hemp car called the Kestrel that is made of hemp plastic and has an electric engine. Hemp is a renewable energy source that can last forever and would be safer and cleaner for the environment as well as decrease our dependence on foreign oil from hostile nations.
