legalize home distillation of alcoholic spirits for personal use only, exempted from taxes just like homebrewed beer.

Created by R.K. on November 21, 2012

After Home brewing of beer was legalized in 1978 and free from taxes, the micro brewery movement in america took off due to freedom for people to create new flavors. It is currently legal to home brew beer and wine, but illegal to distill any alcohol for consumption/ personal use due to prohibition era laws. This is ridiculous and antiquated. If allowed to have freedom to distill alcoholic spirits, it would spur a micro distillery movement in this country and allow new and different flavors to be created. States have already voted to legalize marijuana, but a person cannot legally distill alcohol in their own home for their own personal use/ consumption.
