Home production of brandy, gin, whiskey, and other distilled alcoholic beverages is a traditional practice around the world, but has remained illegal in the US since Prohibition, and punishable by imprisonment and seizure of the distiller's home. We request that home distillation of a limited quantity of spirits for personal use be decriminalized and deregulated, not requiring a federal license or permit.
