Legalize industrial hemp, because it's not pot and our constitution was written on it.

Created by H.A. on January 18, 2013

The United States is currently the only developed country in the world where growing hemp is not permitted. Hemp’s unique properties and all the products and services hemp can provide are shown to be one solution to global warming, deforestation and America’s fuel crisis. Due to its relation to marijuana it was outlawed in October 27, 1970 by the Controlled Substances Act (CSA) (DEA, 1970). However hemp is a distinct and different species of cannabis than marijuana and has natural chemical properties that reduce the levels of THC within the plant itself. The only thing needed to make hemp legal is an amendment to the CSA changing the definition of marijuana.
