This petition requests that President Obama instruct Attorney General Eric Holder to work with the states that have legalized industrial hemp and medicinal cannabis and any state in the future who, through ballot initiative or an affirmative vote of the citizens of the state, pass similar laws to honor the legalization of industrial hemp and medcianl cannabis as a states rights issue. Further, we request that in the event current Congress fails to act on pending legislation addressing both states rights and federal laws that the President issue an Executive Order placing industrial hemp from Schedule 1 of the Controlled Substances Act to a controlled substance regulated and controlled by the USDA and the former ATF to an Newly reformed ATFM.
