legalize lane splitting, for motorcyclists, in all states

Created by T.C. on March 22, 2015

Motorcyclists all over the world are allowed to lane split. The only place in the world that lane splitting is illegal is in the United States, with the exception of California. About 2/3 of accidents involving a motorcycle are caused by the driver of a car, not the motorcyclist. The majority of these crashes were from the motorcycle being rear ended by the car. Crashes such as these can be prevented through the legalization of lane splitting, which allows the motorcyclist to ride between cars and not have to sit in traffic. This prevents the possibility of not being seen by a car and getting rear ended. In places where lane splitting is legal, such as California, the fatality rate is 30% less than where lane splitting is illegal.
