Marijuana should be legal for both personal and medical reasons. Marijuana mitigates the severity of seizures and increases the appetite of cancer and HIV patients. It extends the life span of people with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis by slowing muscle wasting. It relaxes people with psychiatric problems. Marijuana should be legal and taxed. The tax revenue earned from marijuana could be used to fund childhood education, scientific research, or drug prevention awareness. Criminalization of marijuana is a violation of a person's liberty and personal freedom. Prohibition failed in the 20's so why should it work now? The Drug War is a waste of tax dollars and resources.
