This petition is aimed at legalizing marijuana in the United States. Some reasons behind the position:
1) Marijuana is safer and less addictive than alcohol, yet we allow alcohol to be legal after 21. Why not marijuana?
2) Legalizing marijuana will create a new taxable source for the government and potentially can decrease drug use. For those that are worried about those that abuse drugs, putting a higher price tags on imported drugs will ultimately lead to less people using/abusing them.
3) Marijuana related deaths are few and far between. DUI's, alcohol related diseases are all too commonplace in today's society. However, marijuana rarely kills, if ever. It provides for a safer environment.
