WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO:
Legalize marijuana across the entire United States and its territories, and make it a taxed, regulated commodity, free to use, grow, and sell for all.
Whereas marijuana has been proven to help people suffering with severe depression, undergoing chemotherapy, and in general ease human suffering and promote calmness and well-being,
Whereas marijuana has a far more benign track record than legalized substances including tobacco, alcohol, and even pharmaceutical drugs in terms of adverse health effects,
Whereas citizens incarcerated for crimes related to marijuana possession and distribution often occupy prison cells which would be better served to hold those guilty of violent crime,
We, the American people, today ask you,
LEGALIZE MARIJUANA
