Marijuana is a minor charge now-a-days and our taxes do not need to be funding these minor misdemeanors. Marijuana has been proven to have many positive affects on limiting cancer growth, pain relief, relaxation, and many other positive attributes. Originally marijuana was banned by the government because the government was controlled by cotton farmers and other white elitists. Marijuana can help the economy by providing a great source of taxation that is not taxed due to the plant being illegal. Colorado and Cali. already are showing great profits from legalizing and taxing marijuana. If we legalize it and tax the plant the crime rate for gangs should go down with one of their major cash crops becoming legal. Texas is one of the last states that will legalize it so lets start here.
