Marijuana does less damage to your body then Alcohol. Most people who abuse hard drugs started by using alcohol, not marijuana as the "gateway drug" theory suggests. Alcohol causes approximately 80,000 deaths in the United States, according to the CDC. Marijuana? 0. No-one has ever overdosed from smoking marijuana. Cannabis has clinically proven medical uses, is less addictive then caffeine or nicotine, and yet is banned federally.
We call upon the Obama administration to decriminalize marijuana, impose a tax upon it's sale and regulate the production, transportation, and distribution of cannabis in the same way the federal government regulates alcohol, and release any prisoners in jail for marijuana possession or distribution.
