legalize marijuana and tax it to bring in revenue for each state.

Created by K.M. on January 23, 2012

We believe that marijuana should be legalized, because making it illegal the way it is now, is not stopping people from using and abusing the substance. So, instead of trying to stop people from using it we should legalize it, put an age restriction on it (like alcohol -- age 21), and then tax it in order to bring in revenue for each state. We all saw how this worked out in the Prohibition Era when they tried to outlaw alcohol, so why not make money off of something you can't get rid of no matter how hard you try to? Each state could bring in thousands of dollars each year if marijuana was legalized and taxed instead, which means, more money for schools (supplies, teachers, food and money to sponsor children's events).
