legalize marijuana and tax it to pay down the nation's absurd student loan debt that has left America indebted for life.

I'm no apologist for the movement to legalize marijuana. However, it is common knowledge that marijuana use is not nearly as detrimental to public health as alcohol use or tobacco use. Marijuana is demonized and really only because of longstanding misinformation. That having been said, what I propose is that its legalization and subsequent regulation and taxation be bound up with one of the government's glaring offenses against the attainment of the American dream: mainly that of insurmountable student loan debt incurred by millions of Americans nationwide. Not only is the interest high, but the wages are simply not there. The jobs are simply not there for America's college graduates. It's our turn to be bailed out.
