LEGALIZE marijuana and tax it the same way alcohol and tobacco are taxed and sold to the public.

Created by S.M. on November 17, 2011

The war on drugs is a failure. The DEA has effectively done the direct opposite it was founded to do. Marijuana use has not only increased exponentially amongst the younger generations, but the allegations by the government that this drug is dangerous have been disproved time and time again. Even the federal government now accepts that marijuana is not at all dangerous as they once told us it was. As for arguments stating that marijuana is more dangerous that cigarettes, the statistics prove otherwise. Nearly 450,000 people die from complications directly associated with smoking tobacco products annually. The total number of deaths from smoking marijuana still remains zero. NO ONE HAS EVER DIED FROM COMPLICATIONS RESULTING DIRECTLY FROM THE INHALATION OR CONSUMPTION OF MARIJUANA.
