Whereas marijuana is currently classified as a schedule 1 substance, and held to be illegal by the United States Federal Government,
Whereas scientific research has proven without a reasonable doubt that marijuana does not meet the qualifications of other Schedule 1 substances,
Whereas prisons and jails across the country are currently occupied and overflowing with citizens convicted under Federal Law for the possession of marijuana, and who's only crime was to be caught with small personal amounts of marijuana,
Whereas Medical marijuana is already legalized at the state level in 23 states, and recreational marijuana is already legalized in two states with more states working on legislation,
We call upon the Government to legalize marijuana at the Federal Government level.
