The DOJ has announced it will allow legalization of marijuana to go onward on a state level in Colorado and Washington. It has said it will continue enforcement on 8 key areas.
All of these 8 key areas have to do with violence, safety, gang and cartel related activity. When will the DOJ realize it can get rid of all of these 8 problem by legalizing marijuana?
Does the DOJ have these same problems with alcohol? No. But did it have these same 8 problems during alcohol prohibition? Yes. Why can't we learn from history: Legalizing alcohol solved the problems.
If the DOJ is really considered about these 8 key area, Obama should suggest outright federal legalization. It's the right thing to do, ad will help our economy as a bonus
