It is my hope, Mr. President, that you are able to see the change taking place in our republic in regards to the use of marijuana.
Four states, and multiple cities/counties have legalized the recreational use of marijuana-including DC.
We, the people, ask that you eliminate the prohibition and Legalize marijuana for recreational use on a federal level.
In addition, eliminate the present classification of marijuana as a schedule 1 drug in order to allow for proper taxation outside of tax code 26 U.S.C. § 280E.
Regulate marijuana under the same guidelines as alcohol and tobacco. Both, of which, fit the description of a schedule 1 drug .
Mr. President, in an interview you stated "I don’t think it is more dangerous than alcohol.” when asked about marijuana, yet alcohol is available.
