Part 1) Legalize marijuana!
Marijuana is a drug that does no more wrong than alcohol or cigarettes (in fact, it is significantly less harmful than either of these two). As such, the American people deserve the right to be able to consume it as they can alcohol and cigarettes. We petition President Obama to encourage a bill to legalize marijuana on a federal level.
Part 2) Tax it!
Just as alcohol and cigarettes, taxing marijuana will create revenue for the government and will provide the people with what they want. Furthermore, it will take money out of the drug peddlers and into the hands of the U.S. government, deterring crime. We petition President Obama to tax marijuana after its legalization.
Part 3) Pardon!
We petition President Obama to pardon all non-violent marijuana users.
