Legalize Marijuana Nationwide.

Marijuana is a natural and harmless plant that has many uses. Although marijuana remains criminalized despite the lack of data that it causes any harm, nicotine and alcohol remain legal while it is widely known that they cause many diseases. The criminalization of marijuana has overpopulated our prison systems and overburdened courts across the country. The cost associated with keeping marijuana illegal far outweighs any benefit that could be claimed. Tax revenues generated from marijuana sales could greatly improve the economy on a small and large scale. The money and jobs generated would aid the communities where the growers, distributors, and consumers live. Decriminalization would greatly reduce the profit incentive for cartels to continue their trade ending some of the violence. A
