Marijuana has been used for thousands of years without a single fatality. Yet according to the federal government, it is a "dangerous narcotic"; clearly, this statement is entirely erroneous as marijuana is neither dangerous nor a narcotic. It is time to repeal the outdated prohibition of marijuana and legalize the plant so that users and patients alike can enjoy its benefits without fear of persecution. Additionally, by legalizing the sale, use, and possesion of marijuana, the federal government is granted an opportunity to earn more revenue, through the eventual taxation and income that will result from the new industry, not to mention the money saved that would otherwise be spent on legal issues relating to marijuana. LEGALIZE!
