Legalizing marijuana in a way that will provide responsible consumption will be a benefit for the United States and the struggling economy. It will create jobs, keep innocent people out of prison (thus saving tax dollars), and be a considerable blow to the black markets involvement with illegal drugs (the largest part of the black market).
People have been fed lies about this plant and the supposed damages that it causes. To this day not ONE person has died due to an overdose of this "drug". Legal drugs in this country, such as alcohol and tobacco, kill hundreds of thousands of people each year.
So why are these ok but marijuana is not? God gave us this plant. It is hypocritical to say "In God we Trust", and then punish people for something that was put on this Earth by God.
