By legalizing marijuana you take the money out of street gangs pockets, so less street violence. You also create revenue through taxes. Regulation will make it harder for kids to get it much like alcohol. Letting non-violent offenders out of jail will free up room for real criminals and save taxpayer dollars for housing a person who poses no threat to society.
Also freeing up the hemp market to make other goods as well.
