The thought that the miracle drug most commonly known as marijuana is illegal is preposterous. Under numerous studies has marijuana not only been found to be safe, but healthy and beneficial. Tobacco and Alcohol have a combined death toll of well over 500,000, yet are legal in every state. Marijuana has a death toll of 0, yet is illegal in most states. The economic opportunities marijuana presents us is phenomenal. The marijuana industry is a very profitable one and would provide the states with overflowing revenue. Take a look at Colorado, many statistics show the positive outcome of legalization. Crime rates, including the rates for murder, assault, rape, burglaries and other violent crimes, dropped steadily after legalization. Marijuana should be legalized nationwide.
