Marijuana use is not a passing fad or something that can be ignored any longer. The high demand for this product has cultivated criminal activity in our neighborhoods, our schools and on our borders. This billion dollar business is funding organized crime around the world with not one dollar being put back into the communities that fund its use. The war on drugs has failed in its 40 year attempt to squash the demand and has only succeeded in filling our jails and passing along the cost to tax payers. The federal laws keeping this substance illegal are outdated and faulty. Its time for a major change in this countries drug policy. By making this substance legal we will reap the benefits by creating jobs, creating tax dollars and removing this cash stream from drug cartels.
