Marijuana was made illegal at a time when medical science was far more primitive than now. The arguments for keeping marijuana illegal sound ridiculous when compared to the damage done by legal alcohol and tobacco.
There are millions of Americans who could benefit from medical marijuana and are being denied access because of out-dated laws. Many of those who suffer from chronic pain are forced to use far more dangerous, highly addictive -- but legal -- opioids, risking all the problems erroneously attributed to marijuana.
We are told that marijuana is kept illegal to "protect" the populace's health, but those of us who suffer from a variety of conditions are not being protected by the law, but rather are victimized by it.
We ask that medical marijuana be made legal in the US.
