This is a petition to legalize or decriminalize the use and sale of marijuana in the state of Alabama. Twenty eight percent of the United States has already done so. I propose using the state of Colorado's laws as a model. Legalizing and taxing marijuana would bring in a large amount of revenue to the state of Alabama, and relieve law enforcement and the courts from prosecuting a needless crime, and remove funds from gangs and drug cartels operating in the state.
