LEGALIZE THE OWNERSHIP AND SALE OF THE 1964-D PEACE DOLLAR

The creation and existence of the 1964-D Peace Dollar has long been speculated. Last minted in 1935, the Peace Dollar was made of 90% silver. While it is known that 300,000 or so were minted in 1964, it was said they were all melted down. However, it is believed a few may have escaped the US Mint. None have ever been confirmed to exist, largely due to the government stating they were never issued, and therefore illegal to own. It has been more than fifty years since they were minted. The 1933 $20 Gold Double Eagle was long confiscated because it was never issued, but is now legal to own. The 1964-D Peace Dollar should be no different.
