Legalize physician-assisted suicide in all 50 states of America.

Created by T.R. on April 14, 2014

If made legal, there would be many requirements that the patient and the physician would have to meet before going through with assisted death. Such as:
1. Patient has to be of legal age, a citizen, diagnosed with a terminal illness with 6 or less months to live, and mentally competent. Must also notify next-of-kin.
2. Attending physician must be licensed. Two physicians will test and make sure the patient is mentally competent. A physician must inform patient of alternatives.
3. 2 oral requests- 15 days apart. 1 written request. Wait 48 hours to pick up prescribed medication. Healthcare provider must be present when patient takes medication.
4. Not all physicians or healthcare agencies have to participate. Patient should not be influenced. Must not feel like they are a burden to family.
