This petition asks for the right of the individual to decide when to end their own life with the assistance of a physician.
In America, we find it humane and compassionate to end the pain and suffering of our pets. All I am asking is that we give our beloved family members the same peace and kindness that we bestow upon our pets. That we allow our family members to die with dignity and with the least amount of pain as possible.
I find it morally reprehensible that we force our loved ones to wait until their bodies shut down and their finances are drained until they are allowed to pass. Allowing needless pain and suffering in humans is both inhumane and despicable. It is a form of abuse, both for the individual and for the family that is forced to witness it.
