Legalizing polygamy with certain restrictions would be a huge step to lower divorce rates and happier marriages in all communities. This would prevent cheating in some relationships and would eliminate the need for secrecy for those in multiple relationships.
Restrictions on Polygamous marriages, that would keep divorce rates from rising, would be as follows:
1. Those entering a polygamous marriage must have written consent from each member of the relationship, any marriage formed in secrecy from another spouse would be considered bigamy.
2. Those in a polygamous marriage would NOT receive any additional benefits, from anyone, anything, or anywhere within the United states, that a monogamous marriage does not receive.
Those two restrictions provide a considerable amount of controversy.
