Prostitution should be legalized for the sole purpose of enhancing civil liberties and creating jobs. If prostitution were legalized and regulated, this will lower the power of the police, prevent the wasting of tax dollars, and prevent the spread of STDs if the government regulated the industry and forced all sex workers to have STD testing. In Nevada, where prostitution is legal and regulated, crime is totally absent and STDs are fewer, but in a black market where pimps and gangs are commonly involved, there is more crime, and since there is no government regulation, the spread of diseases is ubiquitous. Prohibition solves nothing.
Please help strengthen our civil liberties. It is a woman's right to make money through sex. Prostitution is consensual and hurts nobody.
