Legalize prostitution and sex work to create safe working conditions and to help the fight against human trafficking

Created by G.G. on November 18, 2015

The legalization of prostitution and sex work will improve the working conditions by reducing violence toward workers, allowing workers to have proper recourse after assault, helping prevent the spread of STIs, and helping to end human trafficking. By legalizing this profession, it will allow for health and safety laws to be implemented in order to protect sex workers.
Many face violence from clients, their pimps or madams, and even the police. If legalized, sex workers will have a legitimate way to connect with and get clients, thus losing the dependence on another person. Additionally, if a client sexually assaults a sex worker, they will be able to report it without the fear of getting in trouble with the law. Human trafficking will also be reported more due to this.
