If you want to generate the taxes needed to save our economy, do not tax our payroll, benefits, or estate taxes any further. This will help to eliminate jobs and cause people already struggling, more economic issues. Instead, legalize prostitution, marijuana, and gambling. Doing so would generate thousands of new jobs and I'm sure a 50% tax would be accepted by those benefiting from its legalization. New Government Administration offices could be created to regulate these newly legalized past times, illegal activity would go down, and our debts could easily be paid!
