Puerto Rico is at an economic crisis. There is a decline of jobs, the island is borrowing against debts that is already owed, the people of Puerto Rico are living below poverty and is becoming more highly dependent on the US welfare system and there is a high migration rate of people from the island to the states to find job opportunities that is becoming too difficult to find on their on own home turf. With the legalization of marijuana in Puerto Rico, marijuana can be taxed to help build more schools, pay off debt owed, increase tourism which means more businesses and job openings for the people of Puerto Rico.
