Legalize the recreational consumption of Marijuana and it's counterparts and release those who are jailed because of it.

This petition is attempting to repeal the absurd federal banning of the harmless drug known as Marijuana. The federal laws banning this substance were based on racist, opinionated, non-researched conceptualizations of the substance before the eras of equality and understanding. The prosecution of Marijuana users and sellers is putting too many otherwise innocent people behind bars. The legalization of Marijuana is not only for the recreational use of Marijuana, but for the release of the people who use it and to move on from the era in which prohibition of the drug was created. History has shown us time and time again that prohibition does not work, and enforcing the harmless drug has been a colossal failure, and even costed people their lives.
