We the undersigned petition the Obama administration to make progress towards the end the criminalization of marijuana sales and use, not mandating its legality, but leaving the decision to the state governments and heads of legislature.
We also impose that the sale of marijuana be taxed in a similar fashion as tobacco sales. This would create a considerable amount of new tax revenue that could be used towards reducing our national deficit.
The legalization of marijuana would be impractical however, without regulations on who is allowed to purchase and use marijuana products, so in suit, we demand that along with the sale of marijuana being decriminalized, it is also restricted as to only be sold to those of 18 years of age or older, as is par with the sale and use of tobacco.
