Legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana in a manner similar to alcohol and completely legalize the hemp variety of the cannabis plant. It has been proven that marijuana is a safer substance than alcohol and tobacco, both of which are legal. With our current policy, over 850,000 people are arrested per year just for marijuana offenses, costing tax payers billions of dollars per year.
With hemp legalized, our farmers could once against make the most of the hemp plant and we wouldn't have to import all of our hemp products.
