Allowing Longer Combination Vehicles or LCVs to be operated on and limited to public highways, turnpikes and toll roads, in the form of Rocky Mountain Doubles, which consists of one semi-truck towing one 53' trailer and one 28' trailer and Turnpike Doubles, which consists of one semi-truck towing two twin 53' trailers. This proposal for legalization of LCVs does not include the Triple Trailer combination, which consists of one semi-truck towing three 28' trailers, due to safety concerns with sway and the fact that the rear trailer in triples has more of a tendency to tip over in an evasive maneuver, than a rear trailer in a double trailer comination.
The reason to support these two semi-truck trailer combinations nationwide, is to take more trucks off the road and make products cheaper.
