We the people would like to know why recreational Cannabis use by responsible adults is a criminal offense while alcohol and tobacco use (the true gateway drugs) are not. Alcohol and tobacco are highly toxic, cause physical dependence and have been attributed to millions of deaths and countless suffering worldwide. All the while responsible Cannabis consumption has done none of these things.
Ultimately it is the prohibition itself that drives the black market and causes otherwise law abiding citizens to be permanently tarnished with criminal records, loss of financial aid and supports narco-terrorism. How can your administration let this hypocrisy continue when all non biased scientific studies support legalizing what is possibly the most benign substance on Earth? Give us a real answer!
