It's pretty simple, we're only asking for permission to no longer be second class citizens... same sex marriage couldn't destroy the sanctity of marriage any worse than opposite sex marriage has. This has nothing to do with religion, since religion and government are two separate entities. Let the church figure that part out and act upon it as they wish.
This issue is just as despicable as racial segregation and we succeeded in equality from that. Please look into your heart and find it within yourselves to sign this petition. You might not be a homosexual, and you might not think you know one, but it's most likely someone you know is or you might have a child who is. So if not for the community as a whole, then at least do it for that one person you might not know about.
