Legalize same sex marriage in the U.S

I am a 17 year old female and I feel strongly about legalizing same sex marriage in the United States. Reason being, it is unfair to ban two people that love each other their civil right to marry. Marriage should not be based on sexual orientation, but on the love two people male or female feel for each other. I am doing my senior exit paper right now and this is the topic I chose to write about. If you agree I'd appreciate if you'd sign my petition.
