As with Alcohol Prohibition in the 1920′s, the Drug War against Marijuana has done exceptionally more harm than good. Legalization would eliminate a lot of violence and crime for our country and save on enforcement costs. (search "L.E.A.P.")
Hemp would be a valuable crop for many Farmers and the vast amount of products that can be created from Hemp have the potential to create jobs for many states.
The tax revenue from the sale of recreational Marijuana would also greatly help build our educational system.
This would be similar to Roosevelt ending prohibition to help raise revenue during the Great Depression.
The Medical uses of Marijuana have been well documented. This would also open up research into possible Cures for Cancer (search "Run from the Cure").
