Colorado and Washington have paved the way for a new era. It is time we, as a collective, recognize that marijuana is not the evil gateway drug that it has been unfairly characterized as.
In a pefect world, nobody would seek a temporary relief from the hardships of day to day life. However, currently, the only legal and readily available outlet is alcohol: an intoxicant that kills more everyday than marijuana ever has. The use of alcohol destroys the body, smoking marijuana (obviously) hurts the lungs; but there are more and less harmful ways to imbibe the herb. Please, take the time to consider my petition to legalize marijuana for recreational use in Kansas and end a years-long waste of taxpayers' money fighting a useless battle against an intoxicant that is less harmful than alcohol.
